Forex Signals 9th Mar

Currency Trading SignalsMarket is showing better signs than last week. Most Pairs that we watch are moving nicely in sync and we also start to see candles with larger price movements. To me this indicates that market has higher chances of trending this week as apposed to what we saw last week. My goal is to get on that trend while it is still taking shape.

are you guys just tracking profits and ignored losts, see profits of 1k+pips as headline when happened, but never see any losts of hundreds of pips mentioned. I am new to forex, is that the way all free signals behave??

    • FirePips 9 March 2010 at 7:44 am #

Hi Lee, All signals and their results are posted as we go along. From time to time I do summary posts that you see on the blog. Everything is transparent on this blog.

Though you have a point and I should do summary post more often regardless of results. The reason why I hold back is because of Psychological reasons. When you are your own mentor, like most of us, focusing only on negative criticism doesn't help. I can't emphasis enough how important is your mental stability and positive mindset, specially in my case where all trades are scrutinized publicly :)

"The reason why I hold back is because of Psychological reasons." It's nothing to do with you not wanting to tarnish your 'reputation' is it? lol.

if you dont like that then dont follow the signal , nobody ask you. Firepips doing a great job. no doubt psychology plays big part

Hi Sam, I agree psychology really play a big part in trading. If you dwell too much on the losses, you may begin to doubt your trading strategy and start to tinkle with the trading plan, which will cause you greater loss.
For example, if you keep thinking of last week loss, you might want to protect whatever positive trades this week and prematurely adjust stoploss which may cause it to be stop out earlier, thus preventing you from realising the full potential of the signal

Well a lot more people post a lot more comments during and at the end of a week where we make 1300 pips than do when we follow that with a week of -500 pips.

Were you here several weeks back when we had a week of -1700? It was not "hidden" from anyone. But it is true that looking at those losses and seeing them tallied up in front of you constantly on every trade can be a detractor. It can easily cause you to make irrational trading decisions out of fear. By the same token, looking at consistent gains tallied up in front of you can cause you to make irrational trading decisions out of exhilaration.

I prefer the "order" of having a running total of all closed trades in real time, so I keep one. As of this writing I have us at +295 on the week in closed trades, +40 closed on the first piece of the current trade and I am at +3 on the remaining two pieces of that trade this moment. If FirePips kept a record like that and posted it every 4 hours with the updates, would that make you any better or worse trader?

Were you the same person who posted that you could not use any system that had as much as -500 pip loss in a week?

    Hey firepips..
This week had quite a bad start losing quite a few trades there. However you managed to turn over and all the trades seem to begin going the directions as you stated. Great work! Really appreciate it.
Hope the rest of the week remains profitable!! Huge ones!! =)

I agree with ^, you write interesting articles, write some more please. I'm still relying too much with indicators.

Hello firepips, new guy here. Just wondering what are your average month by month returns so far ? Thanks alot

    GY

  9. Gerry 9 March 2010 at 8:36 pm #

I found a great way to manage the updates. Add the emails to tasks in gmail (everyone uses google mail don't they ?) and then you can jump straight to the email update you want. You can also add notes to each task and email or print the list ;)

    • FirePips 9 March 2010 at 11:12 pm #

Interesting….let me look into it Gerry.

    Hi Firepips

Just came a cross you on the net today..
My last 12 trades were all losses after most being in profit..
    Went short on your CADJPY
I hope i dont destroy your good record

    Bax11

    • FirePips 9 March 2010 at 11:11 pm #

Martin if most trades turn back on you then perhaps you can move your Stop Loss to Break Even after trade has gone positive from some time. I am sure you figured that out already :)

  11. Barbara 10 March 2010 at 12:17 am #
