Fx Signals via Email | 17th 18th 19th Mar

Forex Signals EmailSo far I’ve been using VPS to send emails, lately number of complaints have increased regarding delivery. At this stage I am not sure what is the real issue but I am looking to try a more professional service.

I am close at signing up with Aweber.com and see how it goes. If you have other recommendations then please let me know. If I sign up with them I’ll  still continue to send emails via both ways until we are satisfied that it all works OK.  So instead of 6 emails per day you may get 12…hopefully not too annoying :)

hi im new just wanna ask how much capital do i need to follow your signal? is it ok a $5 per order? thanks in advance

    • FirePips 17 March 2010 at 1:07 am #

Short answer….you need to work out your overall risk per trade and then calculate how many lots you can trade per order.

Let me know if it doesn't make sense.

    • Diet Pipsi 17 March 2010 at 4:17 am #

This is by no means "advice", only information. There is a more complex but more accurate way to do this, but I'm gonna do an approximate way here.

Let's choose 2% risk per trade, which is widely agreed as a decent amount. If you want to risk $5 per trade, that would indicate a $250 account.

If you want to put $5 per order, assuming an average of 75-pip stoploss for FP's trades, you want $5 / 75 pips / 3 units. 5/75/3 = .022222222. That means you want a lot size to give you 2 cents per pip. Nothing wrong with that, but you will need a micro-account to do this.

And if you open an account with $250, any broker that would do this for you should only be opening a micro account. They may not call it a microaccount, they may call it a miniaccount, but you just need to be sure they will allow trade size as low as $100 of currency per order. On a miniaccount, you would enter that as .02 lot size. Just be sure that they do not have a minimum of $1000 of currency per order if you only have $250 to work with.

If you have more money to fund with, and you want a higher lot size, the numbers I gave are an average risk size, and you can move them yup or down accordingly with how much capital you have.

If that does not answer you exactly, please ask more, and we'll all try to give you more.

      Hopefulyl helpful – -

Mate…if you notice I've created a table for tally which is posted just below the current orders table. With your login you should be able to access it. See if you have time to update it :)

      • Diet Pipsi 17 March 2010 at 5:21 am #

Just came in here to post the tally, which has not changed in 3 bars, and before I waste the space of a post for it, I'll go look and see if I understand how to use it. If not, I'll write you. Gonna be away about an hour but then I'll be back, and I'll be here at the console thru the 1200 bar, if you're in we can correspond -

        • FirePips 17 March 2010 at 5:30 am #

awesome..I'll be here. by the way I am almost done reviewing your post…it is just incredible. I made some minor changes….have a look while you there.

          • Diet Pipsi 17 March 2010 at 5:36 am #

OK, I will. I'm about halfway thru the rest of the pages on the Money Management post, breaking it into several sections. I am not typing it in the login, just because the window is small. I am doing it in MS Word, and will just copy and paste the text.

In Regards to sending signals through E-Mail…..have you considered using an Expert Adviser? I am with a signal service now that posts live trades on the chart and it can be seen by all the recipients because we have the login password to the account….it also sounds an alert when a trade has been entered or updated…
All we have to do is download the MT4 platform and login to the account and wait for signals….it's live, so there is no time delay!

    • FirePips 17 March 2010 at 6:37 am #

There has been talks about it for some time now…I'll let you know once I am ready for such a thing.

    hi superstar

i have been watching quietly this blog and i have to say that at the rate that you are going you're going to be overwhelmed by minute administrative details – you have to strike a balance – i prefer that you did fine the old ways.

unless you have an assistant, you're going to collapse doing all by yourself – you should concentrate on making money – not get bogged down by some silly suggestions coming from some readers. some of them dont appreciate that they are geting these good signals free.

    • FirePips 17 March 2010 at 6:34 am #

You are right Haniff…I gotta keep the balance here. I've several strategies that need testing…just can't find time anymore.

      • okey 17 March 2010 at 6:56 pm #

i can help u with any strategy that need testing!

        • FirePips 18 March 2010 at 10:34 am #

Thanks Okey…I am thinking of revealing couple of other methods for public view and testing. I just need some time to get everything organized first.

Thank you for your devoted and blessed work!
Please get the EA working, my wife lets me sleep in the living room cause I wake up every 4 hours :)

    • FirePips 17 March 2010 at 5:14 am #

Now this is serious…Mates doing EA coding please take note :)

    • Diet Pipsi 17 March 2010 at 5:33 am #

I go to bed after the 1200 bar, get up to come in here for the 1600 bar and go back to bed, then I get up for the day just before the 2000 bar. My wife is a light sleeper, but I have mastered getting up quietly. I do suggest that if it is possible, adjust your sleep schedule so that an 8-hour sleep fits right in between two bars like that, so you only have to "wake up" once, right in the middle. But I know that might not work depending on your time zone and yours and your wife's schedules.

But I do feel yours and your wife's pain!

      • FirePips 17 March 2010 at 6:32 am #

I keep a laptop next to bed, helps me avoid getting out of the bed. Though sometimes wife gets annoyed with all the tap-tap and click-click :)

      Welcome aboard mate…Namaskaram !

  8. Diet Pipsi 17 March 2010 at 6:49 am #

OK, I have updated the table above for closed trades on the week-to-date as of the 0800 candle.

I think I've got the hang of it, I do think it's definitely a cleaner look than as posts in the thread.

    • FirePips 17 March 2010 at 6:57 am #

Awesome mate….thanks for taking time to do it.

At the end of the week we can move this table to may be a new post or page and keep adding more tables as we go along.

      Thanks again

      • Diet Pipsi 17 March 2010 at 8:53 am #

Or copy it, and paste it to a new thread, where we can update it as the new week progresses, but still leave the old one in the old page? So that anyone looking thru back threads will see the details for that week.

Maybe not the table itself, but maybe just a picture of it, or just the text of it, or something. We'll figure it out as we go along – -

        • FirePips 17 March 2010 at 11:44 am #

Yeah…we can work that out :)

hi sir, i replied even on twitter about this,
I THINK, Order Id# 14: OCO ChfJpy Buy at 86.15 or Sell at 85.70, in this order sell was triggered first, your update at 9am EST says buy was triggered, please Check. is this because my broker's spread are a bit high, i am using insta tell me where the problem is.
And by the way, Thanks for all you're doing! thanks a lot.

    • Diet Pipsi 17 March 2010 at 9:38 pm #

      What broker are you using?

    • FirePips 17 March 2010 at 11:29 pm #

Low for me was at 85.76…strange their broker differs by 6 pips…are you sure you entered the correct Sell price?

      • @maheshkalwani 18 March 2010 at 6:18 am #

@firepips yaa everything was perfect high for my broker was at 86.07, i was so worried! at last i closed it at -7 pips and after some time when your update came, i regretted doing that, because sell at 85.70 was a perfect order. Thanks anyways.

OK, that is weird. I downloaded an InstaForex demo and looked at the chart. The lowest low it shows is 85.74, and that was not until 2 hours AFTER it hit the high and put us into the loser. You did luck out. On the Insta demo the high shows was 86.09. The live price looks on your chart like about 86.04, it does not cross over 86.05. So even with a 10-pip spread, you just missed getting into the loser long trade we got. By the time it gave you a short trade, you not only avoided the large loss, but could have kept an easy stop on it, and just kept it on into the winning short we got today.

I'm glad you took only -7 on it. I'm still a little bummed, because I almost typed that into yesterday's response, that FP was allowing a 45-pip stop, and so if you just put maybe a 30-pip stop, you'd still be better off than we got, and if it continued to the next sell trade, you could really clean up on an extra 20 pips for each part of the new trade. I thought it and I didn't say, I'm sorry.

Again, glad you got only -7 on it when we all took the full hit!

I'd still think about changing brokers though. Any that vary that widely between demo and live, I automatically suspect of price fixing. Even though it worked out in your favor this time!!

, because if you did not get a buy triggered, your spread must have been below 6 at that time,

          • Diet Pipsi 18 March 2010 at 10:07 pm #

disregard that last line . . . just forgot to delete it – -

          • FirePips 18 March 2010 at 6:50 am #

10 Pips is quite high mate. I recommend you not take CHFJPY signals in the future…not worth the trouble.

          • @maheshkalwani 18 March 2010 at 7:11 am #

but its the same for CADJPY 10 pips and for GBPJPY its 7pips. have you looked at the chart i gave below?

  15. mahesh 17 March 2010 at 1:44 pm #

order id 14, buy was not triggered, sell was triggered first.

    • Diet Pipsi 17 March 2010 at 9:35 pm #

The lowest I see it got on three live platforms was 85.76, and so no sell at 85.70 would have been triggered. However, if you got in the sell, if you show it later reaching 86.15 on your platform, then you probably stopped out anyhow, just as the buy trade did do.

Now if you got a sell, and if you had your stop a few pips wider to compensate for spread, you may have survived it, because that was one of those annoying ones that went just about 2 pips beyond the trigger, just enough to put us in, and then turn right around.

In that case you still wouldn't have seen much profit, but you'd have avoided the loss!

  16. @maheshkalwani 17 March 2010 at 2:24 pm #

hi ppl, i think order id 14, OCO chfjpy, in this order sell was executed first please check sir, your 9AM EST update says buy was executed.
And yaa one more thing thanks for this deed you're doing.

  17. stephan 17 March 2010 at 2:34 pm #

great work diet pipsi, many thanks.
one question, can you modify your ea for ecn execution? i have try that on my mb account and it does not work because the stop and tp orders must send separat.

    regards
    stephan

    • Diet Pipsi 17 March 2010 at 10:09 pm #

Hi – I am swamped in tasks, and honestly have not spent much time on it in the last few weeks.

I do know that some ECN brokers will not accept the order at all if the stoploss and takeprofit orders are included with the initial order. I seem to recall in my MBTrading account it didn't care, it just ignored them if they were there, and I have it written to add the stoploss and takeprofit orders once the trade is open. However, that is useless if it doesn't take the trade to begin with!

And even if mine was working (which I cannot honestly recall for sure), I do know that some will just not accept the order at all, and I had never gone back and compensated for that.

Another member on this board, burn0050, made some augmentations to it. I have not tested them, but if you want to test on a demo yourself, give me an email and I'll send it to you.

Hey gang, I have the 1200 candle tally, but I'm tied up for a bit here. I will update the chart above it in a little while. It's much nicer now with the EURJPY close on it . . . :)

  23. Barbara 18 March 2010 at 12:56 pm #

    Hi Firepips,
I just wanted to suggest that you take a look at http://www.gotomeeting.com You can show your charts and have up to 100 members for $99 per month. I for one would be willing to pay a monthly fee for the service. That would take care of the audio and the visual.

I had belonged to another site that used the service and it is superb.

Let me know what you think.

    Barbara K.

    • FirePips 22 March 2010 at 1:51 am #

      Hi Barbara,

Thanks for your suggestion. I can see that a lot people would be ready to pay, however there will be a lot more who won't be able to afford. If I go this way then I would need to keep the balance and still give back something significant to the people who can't afford.

Also just showing my charts won't be good enough. There is a lot more to trading then just the system. If I go about providing a paid service then I'll add heaps more value than a regular signal service.

Does anybody have suggestions for managing the email signals ?
I have found that if you have gmail you can add each email to a task list and access any of them from there.
    Any more suggestions ?

  25. goldl 18 March 2010 at 9:38 pm #

Hello, Has anyone considered a copier for the signals? If the signals are executed on a MT4 account, then they can be copied. Is there any plan for such a service, maybe for a nominal cost?

    • FirePips 18 March 2010 at 11:11 pm #

I've something in the works..you will see an update next week regarding it :)

  26. robrobrob 18 March 2010 at 10:52 pm #

probably asked about a hundred times, in these calls, how is spead accounted for? like if its a buy and my brokers spread is 5 pips, do I set the buy stop for 5 pips higher? i have ecn broker so spread is always floating but I guess we pick average number. for stops and profit targets, I assume we just use the number listed? so if buy is 1.0401 and we add 5 pips, it would be 1.0406 and then take profit would still be based on the 1.0401 number? same thing with stoploss I assume?

    • FirePips 18 March 2010 at 11:09 pm #

Not quite 100 times yet :)

      Lets use an example:

EURUSD Buy 1.3550 Stop Loss 1.3500 Profit Target 1.3600 Spread 2 Pips

When Ask price reach 1.3550 we get filled (Bid 1.3548).

If Bid price reach 1.3500 (Ask 1.3502) we get stopped out. 1.3550-1.3500=-50

When Bid Price reach 1.3600 (Ask 1.3602) we take profit. 1.3600-1.3550= 50

Remember we Buy at ASK and Sell at BID.

Price has to move 52 pips to give us 50 pips profit, hence we have already accounted for spreads.

      • robrobrob 18 March 2010 at 11:14 pm #

okay, so you basically already including everything. so I should be able to just use your settings. excellent.

  27. Dave 19 March 2010 at 3:52 pm #

It’s your site and you do a fantastic job Firepips but I think you should have sent the signals out this afternoon because so far this afternoon EUR/USA has given 100 pips profit, EUR/JPY has given 50 pips profit, GBP/USD has given 100 pips profit, GBP/JPY has given 100 pips profit all from midday signal candles. So if you were to close all the trades @ 16.00pm as usual on a Friday, we would be at least 375 pips in profit for the day.

    Keep up the good work.

  28. AstonMartin177 19 March 2010 at 11:01 pm #

I tested the 2/3rds 1/3rd option with SL moves as per indicated and closed down 80 pips (130 pips less than you) more importantly I was down 0.11% – not a biggie – but I'll be reverting back to the 3 trade system next week. With Oanda i'm not crinkled by lots. i trade $$, and it tells me how much i'm risking based on SL to entry difference. I can easily set it to 1.000% risk (or any other amount) – down side is no EA's – but to be honest my trade journal helps, i'm updating it over the weekend with data on near misses, atc to get a handle on the TP levels over time….

    • FirePips 22 March 2010 at 1:46 am #

Good one mate…let us know how you go :)

  29. mahesh 20 March 2010 at 10:20 am #

only +50 pips this week, i think market was not in our favour this week, looking at the past performances, i think this week was not a good one, but not so important as FP said these signals are like buses, you missed one week, you'll tally it in other week, there are good days and there are bad days too, we just need to be working, learning from past experiences, i am hoping coming week to be a good one for FP and all of us. Hope you guys enjoying your weekends ;-)
