Forex Signals 23rd Feb

Free Forex SignalsQuite a good day yesterday. We had EURJPY and CADJPY both reached their second Profit Target at +100 and +80 each. GBPJPY first target missed by few pips. If you are using market maker broker with wider spreads then I recommend taking that into account when setting up  Stop Loss and Profit Targets.

    • FirePips 23 February 2010 at 1:39 pm #

You are right, I think I should write up in more detail on it. Though I've answered similar questions in the past, but they may be lost somewhere in the blog.

I'll update the blog FAQ with this info next time I go around updating it. But to get some creative juices flowing here, can I ask you, what do you understand needs to be done with market maker brokers?

i just get comfused as to when do i have to add pips or when do i have to take away pips sorry im kind of new to forex so im sorry if this sounds stupid or something i just need to know what to do thats all

    • richard 23 February 2010 at 3:11 pm #

like for instance i had this eur/cad sell trade open that hit its stop loss beacuse of the spread not acctually beacuse it reached where i put my stop the spread was somthing like 9.9 pips if i had known what to do with the spread back then i would of made a cool 200+ pips beacuse it got close to my stop and then reversed but because of the spread i got stopped out

      • FirePips 23 February 2010 at 11:36 pm #

Richard, my instructions to vary spreads only relate to orders that I publish. For trades that you take on your own need no modification.

For ex. Order says to Sell at 88.50 and take profit at 88.00 and Stop Loss at 89.00. if you are using market maker broker, your spreads could be higher than usual. So to compensate, you set Profit Target at 88.05 and Stop Loss at 89.05. This will take care of wider spreads on your trading platform. Now as you can see it will vary from pair to pair.

For EURUSD and GBPUSD I usually have 0-2 pips spreads, for EURJPY, CADJPY and GBPJPY around 1-3 pips. You can compare with you own and make necessary adjustments.

    Great!! Great!!! Great!!!!

Second great day of trading, thanks!

I need someone who helps me to manage the OCO EA..

    • FirePips 23 February 2010 at 11:09 pm #

Try posting on EA thread. Do read other replies, you never know your questions may have already been answered.

  11. Adam 23 February 2010 at 6:56 pm #

Hi My broker doesn’t support OCO orders What Can I do? Thanks!

    • FirePips 23 February 2010 at 11:07 pm #

If your broker doesn't let you open trades in both direction then I recommend placing orders on one end and setting up sound alerts on entry price on the other side. There may a bit more work but it can be a good workaround.

May be there are some MT4 EAs out there which can take entry prices and then create a market order when price gets there.

You set Profit Target at 88.95 and Stop Loss at 79.95

hi firepips, have you ever heard the phrase 'give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for life'?

imo, without knowing the reasoning behind why/how your system operates it's unwise to depend on these signals.

It seems to be cloaked in secrecy for some reason…not so you can start charging for the signals in the future I hope?

    • FirePips 24 February 2010 at 6:47 am #

Good point. Let me think about it :)

  18. Carlos 25 February 2010 at 11:30 am #

Why humans will never be happy with anything?????

  19. Myke 25 February 2010 at 9:56 pm #

If the signals are as good as I’ve read here, what’s wrong with charging for it someday if he so chooses?

Would love to know his setups though but let’s give him the liberty to or not to disclose that.

Guess if you stick in here long enough, and extract the info inherent in his signals and comments, you may be able to figure out what’s under the hood.

    Thanks, FirePips

    • FirePips 26 February 2010 at 11:35 am #

      Appreciate your comments Myke :)

I would happily pay for an advantage in the market. I'm sure it would pay back ten fold.
